Meet Chadon Hudson: A Compassionate Public Health Advocate

Chadon Hudson’s journey into public health began during a most challenging period––the COVID-19 pandemic. After a 30-year sales career ended unexpectedly, Chadon sought new purpose, and found it in FHD’s high-demand mass vaccination clinic.

For over a year, Chadon channeled his passion for helping others by calming fears and assisting thousands of Fishers residents with vaccine registrations. “I like to tell people that originally I knew no one in Fishers, and by the end of the clinic, I’d talked to around 80,000 people across the community,” he shared.

The experience solidified his professional commitment to public health. As the pandemic slowed, Chadon became a Certified Community Health Worker (CCHW) to continue serving Fishers as a Community Health Advocate.

Today, Chadon’s role is twofold: blending direct patient care with community support. Half of his time is spent in the clinic, helping residents access medical care and coordinating timely vaccine appointments so students can meet school deadlines. The other half involves guiding individuals to more than 300 community resources—from legal aid and food banks to job support and rehab services.

“Once someone completes a Basic Needs Assessment form, my job is to connect them to the help they need. The work is ongoing––building relationships, especially with those new to the area or the country, who might feel overwhelmed trying to navigate everything on their own,” he explained.

With each conversation, Chadon furthers FHD’s mission to promote the health and well-being of Fishers. Marvel superhero posters hang behind his desk, not because he views himself as a hero, but because “they make the kids feel comfortable in the clinic,” he says humbly with a smile.

When asked about his favorite part of his job, Chadon quickly credits the FHD team. “They are unstoppable. Every day, I learn more from the experts around me. No matter the problem, I know this team will work together to find the right solutions.”

Ultimately for Chadon, public health goes beyond policies and services—it’s about creating lasting relationships and providing compassionate support to those in need. Through his work, Chadon ensures that Fishers’ residents—whether seeking medical care, job assistance, or a listening ear—know they have someone in their corner.
