Mental Health Support for Businesses
Since 2014, the City of Fishers has been committed to developing a preventative approach to mental health and wellbeing within the community. The City’s work started as the Stigma Free Fishers campaign developed by the Mental Health Coalition and has since expanded into services and training through public safety, including the Mobile Integrated Health program and HSE Schools’ mental health support.
The City’s mental health efforts are now led by four action teams under the direction of the Fishers Health Department. To ensure a healthy community, we must ensure a healthy workforce and provide support for businesses in our community. The following resources and programs are available to area businesses to support mental health.
Stigma Free Fishers
The City of Fishers and Fishers Health Department are proud to offer Fishers residents and businesses access to StigmaFreeFishers.com, powered by CredibleMind, a free one-stop shop for personalized mental well-being resources. The platform brings together over 16,000 expert-rated and vetted videos, podcasts, apps, online programs, books, and articles all in one easy-to-use place. It’s also confidential and available 24/7! Get started on the platform.
Businesses interested in assisting in the promotion of this initiative can email JJ Sharp to receive a toolkit, including stickers, window decals, coasters, bookmarks, and more!
Fishers Club Hub
The Fishers Club Hub is a new initiative to create a culture of community and connect local businesses with social clubs, civic groups, and nonprofits. Fishers businesses are invited to participate by offering local clubs and groups a free, welcoming place to host their meetings. Participating businesses will be added to an online directory for residents and clubs to use to connect directly with local businesses that can accommodate their meeting needs.
Any Fishers-based business open to the public with seating for six or more guests in one area is welcome to participate, with or without the option to purchase goods or services from your business. Learn more and register to participate.
Mental Health Response
Below are a variety of resources including guides, infographics, and toolkits that can help you address mental health in the workplace.
A Mental Health America survey found that 78% of workers surveyed reported that workplace stress affected their mental health. 7 in 10 found that this made it difficult to concentrate while at work. Developing your business’ mental health response is the first step to putting your employees’ wellbeing first, lowering these numbers, and increasing the overall productivity of your business!
