Senate Enrolled Act 4

Authored by State Sen. Ed Charbonneau (R-Valparaiso), Senate Enrolled Act 4 (SEA 4) aims to ‘modernize Indiana’s state and local health departments’ through increased funding and regulatory activities. Specific transparency reporting by FHD to ensure compliance with SEA 4 is outlined below.

Section 19. IC 16-20-1-12

Section 19 IC 16-20-1-12 outlines the requirements of local health departments to post contracts and positions for no less than thirty (30) days prior to hiring or contracting for the provision or administration of core public health services. The state is currently providing guidance that the new requirement only applies to contracts and positions utilizing the new funds, which should be available on or around January 1, 2024.

The Fishers Health Department posts all positions and contracts for transparency. All position opportunities are also posted on the City of Fishers Job Opportunities page.
