MEET BRITTANY CHEVIRON-SMITH: CONNECTING RESIDENTS TO RESOURCES

At the Fishers Health Department (FHD), we’re committed to ensuring that all residents have access to the care and support they need—especially when it comes to mental health and well-being. One of the key ways we do this is through the work of our social work team, led by Brittany Chevron-Smith, our department’s dedicated social worker.

How We Support Residents

Our Community Health Advocates work alongside Brittany to assist residents who receive 911 emergency services and have additional care needs. The goal is to connect people with the right resources and support in the moment, ensuring their well-being long after the emergency call.

For residents experiencing a mental health crisis, Brittany personally follows up with a direct phone call, assessing their needs and helping them find the resources that will best support their recovery.

Partnerships That Make an Impact

Mental health crises don’t happen in isolation, which is why our social work team collaborates closely with the Fishers Fire and Police Departments. This partnership ensures that when first responders encounter residents in crisis, they can connect them with expert support beyond the immediate emergency. By working together, we’re able to provide ongoing care and make sure that no one in our community is left without help.
