Titers
The Fishers Health Department offers Titer testing to assess your immunity to various diseases. A titer is a blood test that measures the presence and amount of antibodies in your blood. Antibodies are proteins produced by your immune system to fight off infections.
Pricing: There is a $20 administrative fee for all Titer tests, in addition to the cost of the specific lab test.
Here are the Titer tests we offer:
- Measles Antibodies, IgG
- Mumps Antibodies, IgG
- Rubella Antibodies, IgG
- Varicella (Chickenpox) Antibodies, IgG
- Hepatitis A Antibodies, Total
- Hepatitis B Surface Antibody, Qual or Quant
- Rabies
Why would you need a Titer? Titers are often drawn for several reasons:
- To confirm immunity after vaccination: If you’ve been vaccinated, a titer can verify that your body produced a protective immune response.
- To check for immunity after exposure: If you’ve been exposed to a disease, a titer can determine if you already have immunity or if you need post-exposure treatment.
- For school, work, or travel requirements: Many educational institutions, workplaces (especially in healthcare), or international travel destinations require proof of immunity to certain diseases.
- To determine if a booster shot is needed: Titers can help identify if your immunity has waned over time and if a booster dose of a vaccine is recommended.
Appointment Guidelines
- Schedule an appointment or walk-in for services on Wednesday.

What Is a Wellness Screening?
- A simple health screening that measures key biometric indicators like blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, and body mass index (BMI)
- Helps identify risk factors for chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure
- Quick and minimally invasive — includes a finger stick blood test
- Provides immediate results you can review with a healthcare professional
- Useful for establishing a baseline and tracking changes in your health over time
- Can help guide next steps, such as lifestyle changes or follow-up care with a provider
Pricing
- $20 administration fee
Biometric testing is a preventative tool and does not replace regular medical care or a primary care provider.
