Meet Josh Robinson, Assistant Director for the Fishers Health Department! Josh plays a vital role in ensuring the department takes a data-driven, evidence-informed approach to addressing local health needs. What does your role entail?
Josh works closely with Monica Heltz, Director of the Fishers Health Department, as well as other city leaders, to evaluate team performance and ensure their efforts align with the needs of the community. He plays a key role in analyzing operational efficiency and adapting service delivery to reflect the unique and evolving priorities of Fishers residents. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Josh and his team strive to provide responsive, context-specific public health solutions.
What do you love about your role/working for FHD?
Josh really enjoys helping bring the City of Fishers’ vision—smart, vibrant, and entrepreneurial—into the world of public health. Working with his leadership team, he gets to turn community feedback into strategies that are grounded in data and built to evolve as community needs change. Josh feels that it is exciting to be in an environment that’s not just invigorating, but actually shaping the systems and policies that support people’s health and well-being. He feels good to know the work himself and his team are doing is making a real impact in residents’ lives.

Can you tell us some more about the Community Health Needs Assessment?
The Community Health Needs Assessment is designed to give the community a platform to share their perspectives on the most pressing health needs in the area. Based on these insights, the Fishers Health Department will prioritize and develop strategies to address the identified health concerns of residents. Josh has played a key role in the data analysis phase of the Community Health Needs Assessment. Currently, he is focused on gathering and interpreting feedback from Fishers residents who participated in the survey.
